MacAClock is a regular program that displays an analog clock on a screen. It displays the current time, day and date. You can assign individual colors to different parts of the clock.
With version 2.0…
1). You can change text font, size, and style;
2). You can resize the window;
3). Use international resources to provide localization support;
4). Include leading zeroes, centuries in date display;
5). Abbreviate day display;
6). Play tick sound;
7). Change seconds arm apprearance (straight line or dot);
8). Remember window position after quitting;
9). Support multiple screens/monitors;
The regular grow icon (size box) is not showed. But if you click in this region (just like other Macintosh resizable windows) you will be able to resize the window.
From now on MacAClock 1.0.1 is split into two versions : MacAClock- displays max. (?) 256 colors and requires Color QuickDraw, and BWMacAClock - displays eight colors. The number of colors that can be displayed in MacAClock is depends on your video/monitor card. Color QuickDraw is part of System 7.0. For System 6.0.x users, you need to have the Color QuickDraw to run MacAClock.
Version 2.0 should work on all Macintosh computers (512KE or better, and System 6.0.4 or better). The programs have been tested on SE, SE/30, II, cx, ci, si, LC, Quadra 700, Classic, and Classic II.
As always, MacAClock is a freeware. Use it if you like it. You can freely distribute the program as long as it is not for profit/commercial purposes and this document "ReadMe.MacAClock" must accompany the distribution. You have no right to modify/alter MacAClock or BWMacAClock in any way for any reason.
* Credits (in no particular order)
MacAClock is based on the Clock DA written for Turbo Pascal (by Borland International). I ported the DA, added color and an alarm feature so it could work as a regular program under MultiFinder. I don't know the original author. So the author should receive a credit.
Pop-up menu routine is written by Michael S. Engber.
Some dialog routines are written by J. B. Parrett.

* Potential problems :
On certain Macintosh computers (plain 512KE, Plus, SE, Classic) the seconds arm looks "jerky" and tick sound may not be properly played due to slow CPU speed. Just turn off the option of playing the tick sound.
